My First Christmas!

Hi guys, Emmett here again with the help of Aunt Amy!

Wanna hear about my first Christmas?

Well, of course you do!

I think I like this Christmas thing. All I have to do is hang out and be cute and people give me presents.

I don't even have to bother opening them myself, because my big brother does it for me!

I got to be passed around to everyone while they were opening gifts. 

I guess they all want to hug me because I'm so stinkin' cute.

Landon got one of his favorite gifts from our Gigi, Bella's mommy.

I know he loves legos, so this is perfect for him!

Uncle Gosh was being silly in this next picture. He put on the football helmet that my big brother got from Bella and Gramps.

Man, I love Christmas. But it is so exhausting! Aunt Amy got a picture of me napping towards the end of the present opening extravaganza. But hey, can you blame me? I'm still just a little guy.

I love Christmas, and everyone says they can't wait until next year when I get to be more involved. 

I'm excited too!

I hope you guys all had a great Christmas too!

Oh, and PS, can someone PLEASE explain to me who this "Santa Claus" is ?

My brother has talked about him a lot in the past few days!

Tis the Season...to catch up!

Christmas is in 4 days!

I can't believe it! Things have been so crazy and busy around here that I kind of forget that today is December 21.

Of course the mid 40's to 50's weather isn't helping that. This girl wants snow.

So in the interest of keeping everyone up to date, here's one large, rambling post on the things that have been happening:

1.) We found a wedding and reception venue! And it's perfect! AND. I get a beach wedding after all!

    On May 12, 2012, I get to marry my best friend down at Lake of the Ozarks!

2.) Today we are recovering from a late night and early morning from going to the Fox Theatre to see...

Beauty and the Beast!

    It was magical and fantastic and the food we had before hand was great too. (Just another perk)

         Although our anniversary is the 27th, we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than going to see a      show!

3.) Third, and possibly the biggest, our family became very familiar with Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
Yep, Landon was back in for a CT with sedation and for observation. He did very well overall, and we are still waiting to see what comes of all of it, but as for now, we will be happy that he's home now!
           -Side note: Emmett did great with hanging out at the hospital, despite the fact that we found out that he has a DOUBLE ear infection, perforated eardrum, and a cold. The Dunham household has temporarily converted to their own home clinic for the boys.

Well, I guess that's the Sparknotes version of all that has been happening in the past few weeks!

If I don't get a chance to tell you before, Merry Christmas!

4 Week Tubby Time!

Hi guys! I'm 4 weeks old! And I got to have my first bath at Bella's house! I've had baths before, but this one was cool because it was my first one at Bella's!

The water was kinda a shock at first! (can you see it on my face?!)

But then I got used to it! Because I love bathtime!

This is how it went:

My big brother watched my bathtime!

All wrapped up in my towel!

But, all good things have to come to an end. 

So I had to get all dressed again and continue hanging out with my family!

Hey guys, Emmett again. Today I am three weeks old! And it's my first Halloween!

Aren't I a cute little pumpkin??

And, my brother is a super-cute cowboy!

Two milestones from my week:

1. I met Gad! And he's my newest friend!

2. I christened my Aunt Amy twice in one diaper change!

Two Weeks Old!

Hey guys,

Emmett here again with Aunt Amy!

She's kind of failing by putting up my two week old pictures 4 days late!

But I've been busy being the bait to get my Bella over to my house so she can find her Mommy and Daddy (my great-grandparents) waiting to surprise her!

Aunt Amy said something about her turning 29 again...I don't know much math, but I'm not sure that makes sense!

Anyways, here are my "super" 2 week pictures!

I still sleep a LOT

My Aunt Brooke and cousins Eoin and Nola came to meet me last weekend too!

My brother is very protective of me. When Aunt Amy tried to talk to me, Landon told her:"SHHH! EMMETT SLEEPING!"

One Week Old!

Hi everyone, it's Emmett again with Aunt Amy translating for me!

Guess what! I'm a whole week old today!

As you can tell from my picture, I am VERY excited.

Except today I also found out that I have jaundice, as you can see in my eyes.

Aunt Amy and Mommy and Landon took me to the hospital for my test.

I felt very calm and slept the whole way there.

But man, I got a rude awakening! Those needle things hurt!

My mommy had a new bed brought in so that hopefully my level will go down from 18.5 and I'll be feeling better and more awake.

Because I like to sleep....

In fact, I sleep in my bouncy seat so well that I don't even notice when I start to fall sideways.

I don't sleep when my big brother holds me though. I like to look at him and wait for kisses from him.

Well, I'm liking it out here in the world so far.

Thursday's Little Scare

Lindsay's Status on Thursday night says it all:


We had a very scary moment this evening. Emmett got very fussy all of the sudden then quickly turned hysterical which is VERY rare for him. In my quest to find out what was wrong with him I realized that he felt warm to me. I decided to take his temp with our temporal thermometer. When it beeped it showed a temp of 102.2! I swear my heart stopped. I didn't think he felt that warm but the crazy paranoidmother in me surfaced. I took him temp 4 more times, twice under his arm and twice the "old fashioned way" (sorry little buddy!) and was so relieved to see that those thermometers showed a consistent 98 temp. PTL! Now I kind of want to smash the temporal thermometer into a million pieces for scaring us like that. Emmett is doing great now (poor little guy had a tummy ache). I'm so thankful that God gave us a healthy baby!


Thursday night I was preparing to go see the little guys and their mommy. Mom had already said she didn't want to go, which was fine. As I was finishing up some things in my room before heading over, I heard Mom's phone ring. Not even 20 seconds later, she was yelling to me, "Amy let's go now! Lindsay just took Emmett's temp and it was over 102!"


Talk about a heart-stopping moment.


We grabbed shoes and keys and headed over to their house, sending up frantic prayers the whole way.


(Off the record, it probably only took 4 minutes to get there instead of the usual 7-8 minutes)


As soon as we got there, we ran into the house to find a crying Emmett, a worried Mommy, and a very confused big brother Landon telling us, "He crying. Em Emm crying!" Such a caring big brother!


We re-took his temp and got consistently somewhere in the 98 range, and figured out that it was just a tummy ache from some of the food his Mommy had been eating.


Finally, he got calmed down enough to show off how cute he was in his onesie from Aunt Amy...

Lindsay, allow me to get a swing in at that thermometer too?

My First Day at Home!

Hi everyone, Emmett here! (My Aunt Amy is translating for me)

Today I got to finally leave the hospital and go home!

I love my new house and have been so busy since I've gotten here!

I've been sleeping, more during the day than my mommy likes me to...but hey, being this cute is exhausting!

My big brother has been so helpful! He even tried to put my hat on while I slept. Nice try, Landon!

When I finally woke up for a diaper change, I gave everyone a big surprise and marked my territory on my room. Sorry, Mommy, looks like you're gonna have to wash my curtains!

When I finally decided to wake up and look around, I decided I like it here! I have so many visitors and everyone talks about how cute I am!

Thanks everyone for adoring me! I think I'l go back to holding Aunt Amy's finger now...she totally loves me. But then again, who doesn't?

Brotherly Love
